Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize geriatric syndromes frequently associated with congestive heart failure as well as their impact on disease course and management 
  • Identify opportunities to engage caregivers, other health professionals and available community resources to improve the quality of life of older individuals with heart failure
  • Apply available knowledge to optimize the care of older individuals with heart failure in inpatient and outpatient settings
