The landscape of available therapeutic options in gynecology has changed significantly this year with new paradigms for treatment of common gynecological conditions and new therapeutic options, ranging from contraception to menopause. This talk will be an quick tour of what's new in 2020.

Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Gain awareness of long acting contraceptive options and the essentials of the new etonogestrel contraceptive implant
  • Develop an approach to pelvic pain and understand the mechanism of action of new oral GNRH antagonists
  • Understand the rationale and pharmacokinetic profile of the alternatives to classic estrogen-progestin therapy
